Two Oceans Charity Applications
Applications to become official beneficiaries of the Old Mutual Two Oceans Marathon charity initiative (TOMI) are now open. Charitable organisations wishing to apply may submit their applications online by 13 August 2015.
TOMI was launched ahead of the Two Oceans Marathon in 2012. As an entity of the Two Oceans Marathon NPC, the body identifies beneficiaries that compliments the organisation’s support of education, environment, health and athletics development. Organisations who benefited from the 2015 event include: CANSA, Cape Kidney Association, Centre for Early Childhood Development, SANCCOB, SANParks and its Honorary Rangers, as well as Western Province Athletics (WPA).
ATC Running, along with 15 other participating clubs, also benefited indirectly through WPA’s Kids Athletics program.
ATC Facebook Page
We have reached 1000 Likes! Last week we ran an impromptu competition on Facebook to celebrate our page reaching 1000 likes. We have since discovered that social media “audit trails” are quite volatile and therefore not 100% accurate. The number of page likes was also bouncing up and down the whole week. So we decided to give away free ATC Memberships to two Facebook users who liked our page during last week. Alfred Thorpe sent us an image of his 1000th like so he received the first free membership. The other membership went to the name randomly drawn from all the likes we received last week: Ben Nortier. Congratulations to these new members!
RESULTS:

Bruzano Britz was the 2nd Minimee, Eugene Poss the 2nd Senior, and Barry Goliath the 2nd Veteran. Fellow ATC’er, Derek Oehly, won the Masters category.
Alexander Schubert was the third Veteran in the Mauritius Half Marathon on Sunday! Alex did the event as part of the Embark Mauritius Tour.
