NEWS:

WP Triathlon’s Secretary, Lynne Manson-Kullin was knocked off her bicycle during a hit-and-run incident on Saturday, near Tokai.  Lynne will be recovering at home for a couple of days.  We hope she is ready to get back on the bike soon.
 
TSA Registration:
With the Woolworths Triathlon happening this weekend and WP Champs on 7 December, Lynne will be very busy when she returns to the office.  We have a lot of TSA License applications, which are incomplete, or pending due to non-payment.  If you have not completed yours yet, we urge you to do so soon.  The deadline for pre-WP Champs license registration is next Wednesday.

Two Oceans Half:
Entries for the Two Oceans Half Marathon open on Thursday the 13th, for licensed athletes only.  Please note that you must have a 2014 ASA License and active club membership in order to enter on this date.  Entries to non-registered athletes open on the 19th.
 
Open Ocean Festival – Sunset Mile:
Join us tomorrow (Wednesday) evening in the Volvo Ocean Race Village at the V&A Waterfront for a 1 Mile swim in Quay 6!  To enter on-line, please visit www.ntri.co.za.  You can also enter on the day from 16:30.  The mile starts at 18:00.  If the weather is bad on Wednesday, the event will be postponed to Thursday evening.
 

TRAINING THIS WEEK:

Tuesday Track:  This evening will be a 5 km Time Trial.  We will warm up on the track and do the plyometric session as per normal.  Then we will head up to Victoria road for the Time Trial. 
 
Thursday Ride:  We will ride from the Point Virgin Active on Thursday morning at 05:30.
 
Thursday Trail Run:  We will run from the parking area on Kloof Nek at 18:00.  It will be our usual route around Lion’s Head.
 
Friday Canal Swim:   The V&A Canal Swim will start promptly at 06:00
 
Weekend Ride:  On Sunday we will do a long ride from the Point Virgin Active at 06:00.  The ride will be along the Peninsula for 3-4 hours.
 
Sunday Swin Bike Run:
Following the 1.9 Km open water swim, organised by Polarbear (Organisers of Clifton 1st Sunday of the Month Swim), there will be the option to do a Bike and Run.  You have to register and pay for the swim, on-Line at www.1soms.co.za  for R100, or on the day for R150.  The swim starts at 07:00.  Then you can do the 40 Km Bike, followed by a 10 Km Run.
 

EVENTS:

The Correctional Services Pollsmoor 10 K, originally scheduled for Wednesday, has been postponed to the 10th of December.  The ACSA Airport 10 K, scheduled for Sunday 16 November, has been postponed till the 7th of December.
 
On Saturday it is the Woolworths Charity Triathlon on the Paul Gluver Wine Estate in Grabouw.
 
Also on Saturday, the Winelands Marathon, Half Marathon and fun runs in Stellenbosch.  Note that the Run/Walk for Life 10 Km, originally scheduled for 6 December, will now take place in conjunction with the Winelands runs.
 
The next NavChallenge, a fun, action packed treasure hunt style race done on mountain bikes or trail running, takes place on Saturday 15 November at the Oak Lane Cottages, Grabouw.  Solo athletes or Teams of 2 have three hours to find as many of the 25 checkpoints hidden around the area as they can.  The first five teams with ATC or Embark in the team name, to enter and pay on www.raceinterface.co.za, will receive 50% discount off the entry fee.
 
The Langebaan Lagoon Challenge, a road bike funride through the West Coast National Park, is on Saturday.
 
The first WP Aquatics Open Water Challenge takes place on Saturday at the Misverstand Dam, offering swims from 400m to 5 Kms.

Entries for the ITU World Series event, the Discovery World Triathlon Cape Town are now open!  The race will take place on 25 and 26 April 2015.  Visit http://capetown.triathlon.org/enter to secure your spot. We dare you to tri!  See flyer below for details.
