Blue Lagoon Triathlon & CTTA Champs

A brilliant event with rave reviews all-round!  The Blue Lagoon Triathlon, which doubled up as the Cape Town Unicity Triathlon Association’s (CTTA) district championship and a selection event for SA National Triathlon Championships.

If you are a licensed athlete, you will receive an email from CTTA with your Championship result and an indication if you’re are eligible for selection into the CTTA Team to race at SA National Triathlon Championships in Durban on 22 March.

We thank all the members who selected Atlantic Triathlon Club on the BLT entry.  As a result, ATC won the club / academy competition and are the proud custodians of a massive trophy for the year.  Points were allocated to all finishers, based on individual finish positions, within the standard 5-year age groups.  Points from the top 3 males and females per club / academy counted towards the competition.  ATC got full marks since we had 7 AG champs at the event, so our top 3 males and females scored maximum points.  We are particularly proud since three of our champs are Juniors!  Champs in this competition were:  Laura Voss (S 20-24), Aimee Scott (16-17), Liza Visser (25-29), Martha Koekemoer (45-49), Joshua Scott (18-19), Joe Botha (16-17) and Daniel Marais (50-54).

CTTA District Championships

In the CTTA Championships, ATC’ers got the following podium positions:

The following members accepted their slot into the CTTA team to compete at SA National Championships.  SA Champs was set to take place on 22 Marc but was also cancelled due to COVID-19.
