ATC Summer Sunset Team Time Trial
Entries for the ATC Summer Sunset Team Time Trial, taking place this coming Wednesday are flowing in nicely and it looks like we will have a full race again!
We need more people to help out in the transition area and finish line and don’t have enough volunteers for this yet. If you are available on that evening, even if you are running in a team, please let us know by replying to this email or tell us how you can help at the following link: Click Here to Volunteer
To enter the event, think of a cool Team Name (we have a prize for the best name!) figure out the Category you would like to compete in and visit the ATC SSTTT Event Page to Enter! You can provide team member details at registration on the day.

ATC AGM 2016
A reminder of the ATC Annual General Meeting taking place on 26 October 2016, at 19:30, at the Green Point Cricket Club. We will distribute the agenda next week but the primary issues up for discussion are:
· The creation of another ATC sub-club to serve the Cape Winelands district and to affiliate with that Triathlon Association when it is formed.
· The election of new members to serve on the ATC Management Committee for 2016 - 2017.
The AGM is not expected to last more than 45 minutes.
Please click below to RSVP, Nominate someone to stand on the committee or to raise any matters to be discussed at the AGM:
Iqela Slanghoek Triathlon
Congratulations to Amanda Cardenas, Genine Manchip and Travys Wilkins, who won free entries into the Slanghoek Triathlon through our campaign. The event takes place on the weekend of 22 and 23 October.
Mend the Muscles
With the Swim, Bike, Run and Triathlon seasons all converging on our muscles, the next 6 months will be filled with long rides, long runs, and brick sessions, which means tired legs! Recovery sessions are as important as training sessions but there’s no time to fit all this in. Training and competing at higher than average levels is strenuous on the body and results in large amounts of excess metabolic waste. MUSCLE MEND is a new, passive, recovery method that speeds up lymph drainage and the delivery of oxygenated, nutrient-rich blood to the legs, while you relax. Recovery time is shortened, enabling you to return to your demanding training programmes sooner. And it costs less than a sports massage!
MUSCLE MEND sessions can be booked at the following practitioners:
Genine Manchip Physiotherapy (Sea Point), Tuesdays and Wednesdays. Contact: 0844619987.
Sport Studio (Milnerton), Mondays, Thursdays and Fridays. Contact: 0836317683
TRAINING: Details here...
SWIM: The Canal Swim will be on Friday morning at 06:00. Please DO NOT Park in reserved bays.
BIKE: On Saturday morning we will do a long ride from the Point Virgin Active at 06:30. We will first head out to Blouberg along the cycle paths and return the same way. Then we will ride to Chappies and back. Stronger riders can dip down into Noordhoek for a bit of extra distance. The ride will be between 100 and 120 Kms.
RUN: Track will be on Tuesday morning at 06:00 and Wednesday evening at 18:00. A reminder, all ATC Members must enter GPAS through the turnstile gates. You will need to show your ATC Tag to the security guard and then still scan in at the main entrance as normal. This is in order for security to keep track of the number of athletes present in the stadium. When you leave, scan out as per normal and exit through the turnstile gates.
